New Year’s Resolutions!

Many people decide to be the best they can ever be for the New Year – quit smoking, lose weight, pick up a habit, drop a habit – the list goes on and on. But why in the New Year? Looking at it logically, it’s simply an arbitrary mark demarcating the end of the last month (of the year 201X). Much like two weeks in a fortnight and 24 hours in a day. This bring the questions ‘is it that human beings cannot in themselves start or end something with their own mindset?’ ‘How does January 1st help a person who procrastinates suddenly change?’ ‘How does it help a sadistic and senioritis individual to be enlightened?’ Change requires a conscious effort and a support system (well, that’s what I think – for now anyway). If the human race had a growth mindset, this fuss about New Year’s Resolution would probably not exist.

Anyways, Happy New Year!!! Today marks the first day of the year, one down, 364 more days to go! Let’s do it! Let everyday count in this New Year as you write down your New Year’s Resolution! Start that thing you’ve always wanted to do, finally ask that boy/girl you’ve been crushing on out, quit procrastinating, be happy, give up that terrible habit you had yesterday, set a goal to achieve this year, do something new, dare to be different, the list goes on……
